Fund operations still run on manual processes, spreadsheets, fragmented systems, and a great deal of human coordination. We are building Embankment to change that: turning complex operational workflows into software and automation that is reliable, understandable, and increasingly autonomous.

We are expanding our engineering team in Aarhus and have several openings for Senior Engineers.

The Role

You will work directly with product managers and operations teams to understand how the business works, identify the problems worth solving, and decide where technology creates the most impact. This is not a role where Product defines a feature and Engineering implements it.

You will own systems end-to-end: understanding the problem, designing the solution, implementing it, operating it in production, and measuring whether it achieved the intended outcome.

Problems You Might Work On

  • Automating operational workflows that today require significant manual effort.
  • Turning fund documents and other unstructured information into reliable, structured operational data.
  • Improving how financial and investor reporting is produced and delivered.
  • Building controls that identify exceptions and produce reliable evidence.
  • Integrating accounting, banking, portfolio, payment, and administration systems into operational workflows.
  • Designing agents that perform increasingly complex operational work while keeping humans in control.

What We're Looking For

Strong engineers who enjoy understanding difficult business problems and turning them into simple, reliable systems.

Problem Solving and Ownership

  • Taking ambiguous business problems and turning them into effective technical solutions.
  • Owning significant systems from problem definition through production impact.
  • Working closely enough with product and operations to challenge requirements rather than simply implement them.
  • Balancing speed of delivery with reliability and long-term maintainability.
  • Communicating trade-offs in terms of their impact on users and the business.

You are comfortable stepping into areas where neither the problem nor the solution is defined, learning an unfamiliar domain, and creating clarity as you go.

Engineering Execution

  • Built and operated production software that real users or business processes depend on.
  • Delivered substantial backend or product systems.
  • Worked with data-intensive workflows, integrations, automation, or complex business logic.
  • Diagnosed difficult production problems and improved systems based on what you learned.
  • Built systems with appropriate testing, observability, and operational controls.

You care about getting things into production quickly and iterating on real usage rather than designing the perfect system upfront.

AI-Native Engineering

Agents are core to how we build software. You delegate implementation to agents, run several in parallel where that improves throughput, and give them the context and constraints they need, while remaining accountable for correctness, security, and maintainability regardless of what generated the code.

You will also build agents into the product itself, held to the same standards as any other production system.

Collaboration and Leadership

You drive projects rather than wait for work to be assigned, align product and engineering around priorities, communicate decisions and risks clearly, and mentor other engineers. You do not need formal authority to lead.
