Mergers and Acquisitions Integration Manager

We are one of the fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for a passionate and experienced HR M&A Integration Manager to lead our People focussed integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions. This role is critical in ensuring that our growing organization continues to thrive by seamlessly integrating new teams and aligning them with our culture and objectives.

This is the role

As the M&A Integration Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful integration of newly acquired companies or business units into our organization. Your expertise will help us navigate the complexities of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that our HR processes, policies, and systems are harmonized and aligned with our strategic goals. You will be instrumental in managing change, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and fostering a cohesive and inclusive organizational culture.

We are looking for someone who preferably can work out of our offices in Berlin, Amsterdam, London or Copenhagen.

Your main responsibilities in this role:

  • Lead the human resources aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, ensuring seamless integration of acquired companies or business units.
  • Develop and implement integration strategies and plans to align HR processes, policies, and systems with the overall M&A objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess organizational structures, talent capabilities, and cultural differences, and devise strategies to address integration challenges.
  • Manage communication and change management initiatives to facilitate smooth transitions for employees impacted by M&A activities.
  • Oversee the harmonization of compensation, benefits, and performance management programs to promote consistency and equity across the integrated organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR business partners and functional leaders in navigating integration-related issues and implementing integration plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of integration efforts, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to provide updates on integration activities and address concerns as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to M&A integration, and incorporate relevant insights into integration plans.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and other functional teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the integration process.

This is you

You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of human resources principles and a passion for managing change and integration. You excel in complex situations, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Your integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are paramount in handling sensitive information related to M&A activities. You thrive in dynamic environments and are driven by a desire to create cohesive and high-performing teams. Willingness to travel as needed to support integration activities across multiple locations.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing HR aspects of mergers and acquisitions, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and processes, with expertise in organizational design, talent management, and change management.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop and execute integration plans within established timelines and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex situations, identify integration opportunities and challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information related to M&A activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS platforms; experience with M&A integration tools and software is a plus.
  • Certification in change management, project management, or related areas is desirable.

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!

These are the benefits

  • Up to six months of fully paid parental leave for all new parents - no matter how you identify or where in the world you live
  • ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) for all employees, no matter where in the world you live.
  • Free online therapy sessions through We.Care.
  • Delicious lunch with great colleagues.
  • Learning and personal development opportunities to help you thrive and enrich your skills in a fast-paced creator economy.
  • Opportunity to work flexible hours and remotely.
  • The chance to make an impact at a growing international company and see your work pay off immediately.

This is the hiring process

We invite you to showcase why you're the perfect fit to be our new M&A Integration Manager.

Here's how you can make your resume stand out: Tailor your resume to fit the job you are applying for. We want you to outline your relevant experience, skills, and achievements, and to consider how your background and accomplishments make you the right fit for this role. We do not care about fancy headshots, so leave out your photo - we would rather learn about your skills and competencies through a well-written resume, and a nice story about what motivates you and how you thrive the best in a work-setting.

Interviews:

If we pick your application to continue to the interview stage, this is how we plan to run the interview process:

  • First interview (45 minutes w. Strategic People Partner)
  • Case session (1 h. with hiring panel consisting of primary stakeholders)
  • Final interview (45 minutes w. hiring manager)

We might change it up to make sure it makes sense. Our main focus is to run an efficient and enjoyable interview process for you as a candidate.
