Phanofi is a DTU spin-out building the next generation of optical communication infrastructure. We design integrated photonic interconnect chips to reduce power consumption and increase speed for AI datacenters, quantum computing, and space applications. We are a diverse team looking for a Student Assistant in Operations & AI Automation to help us design, build, and implement AI-powered solutions that improve how we operate from internal workflows to data handling and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Design & Automation: Map and optimize internal processes by designing AI agents to automate repetitive tasks and building structured workflows that align with business goals and improve efficiency.

• AI Use Case Exploration: Identify high-impact AI use cases across operations, assess suitable tools and frameworks, and propose scalable, business-value-driven solutions.

• Implementation & Execution: Design and integrate AI-powered solutions while maintaining structured dashboards and operational data.

• Optimization & Insights: Deliver actionable insights on process performance and AI optimization. Measure impact, refine solutions, and continuously improve automation systems.

• Adoption & Transition Support: Support the team in adopting new AI tools by ensuring smooth, low-disruption implementation and providing clear, simple documentation for long-term use.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: You are currently pursuing an MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, with preferably more than one year remaining.

• Experience: You have hands-on experience with AI, automation, or data-driven projects and enjoy applying your technical skills to solve real operational challenges.

• Skills: You combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with programming ability, experience using APIs and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate), and confidence working with structured data in Excel.

• Soft Skills: You are structured, independent, and proactive, with a curiosity-driven mindset and the ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment with minimal supervision.

• Bonus: You have experience building AI agents, LLM-based workflows, or automation systems, and are interested in applying AI within a deep-tech or hardware-driven company.
