Job Description:

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
You will join the Media Infrastructure team, responsible for handling all media creation and consumption on LinkedIn. Media, and in particular Video, has become a key driver of business growth for LinkedIn. We are a small team with a large impactful scope. E.g. continuous improvements to video performance and quality move the needle for LinkedIn’s core business metrics. Everyday, our 1B+ members upload and consume millions of new multimedia content (images, videos, documents) across the planet.
You will work with a dynamic team of engineers and collaborate with multiple partner and customer teams to deliver high-performance scalable media capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• You will develop production capabilities to understand multimedia content (images, videos, documents)
• You will improve video quality of experience (QoE) for both creation and consumption flows
• Collaborate and influence cloud service providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Open AI) to leverage distributed computing, scalable architectures and off the shelf AI models
• Make scalable and performant design choices while also unblocking quick iterations with product partners
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 4+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 4+ years programming experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or Ruby.
• 4+ years of experience working on video technologies such as video processing, live streaming or developing, leveraging AI models for media understanding
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS and 8+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 7+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.
• Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks
• Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership
• Experience building content extraction or generative AI systems for media
• Used to working with product enabling impact on business metrics
• Knowledge of recommendation systems
• Experience developing distributed systems or other large-scale systems
