Job Description

This role can be based in Mountain View.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Global Talent Organization (GTO) with a focus on Data Governance. People Analytics analyzes current and prospective employee data to enable agility through better, faster talent decisions. This is a full-time role.

This role requires a collaborative, innovative individual who can operationalize strategic vision provided by leadership teams. Strengthening the Talent data through strong data governance principles combined with HR business acumen is a must have quality. This position is part of People Analytics team and will act as a major voice of the Data Governance team, partnering with our technology organization and functional stakeholders to expand and execute enterprise-wide data governance program. This position will also be required to have hand on experience with prior data governance implementation experience, taxonomy and master data management while partnering with our technology organization to implement the next generation of data tools with modern cloud-based technology.

This role will also lead multiple transformation initiatives and will ensure that data management related applications are fit for purposes for the growing needs of the People business. This individual will be accountable for assuring that our data assets are healthy, trusted, accessible and understood, and are used in a meaningful, consistent, and compliant manner to fuel LinkedIn people strategy. The candidate is expected to be strong in MSBI technology stack, profisee or any related MDM tool implementation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with functional teams, and legal/privacy to document and maintain data policies and standards that enable use-cases and ensure legal/ethical compliance.
  • Support data stewards to maintain organization’s people data management, insights production, and ensure monitoring, measurement, and compliance across the organization.
  • Work with senior leaders, global technology execution teams and business functions, to design solutions that sustainably drive data standardization, insights enablement, and high-quality data analytics lifecycle.
  • Strong in technical capabilities and knowledge on databases, ETL tools, cloud computing and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge on statistical/ mathematical models that can be used for data profiling.
  • Establish and enhance data governance knowledge management capabilities (i.e. glossary tools, training, communications)
  • Ability to work with databases, semantic layers, and reports. High proficiency in understanding data at source, ability to develop SQL queries, DAX queries that will represent metrics on the semantic layer.
  • Work with data scientists to capture data requirements, write queries to translate requirements into results and liaison with development team for solutions build.
  • Extensive documentation experience in capturing security requirements and maintaining an enterprise die security playbook with information on access to data solutions.
  • Ability to build metrics in SSAS (DAX queries), prior experience in building reports using Power BI, SSRS.
  • Prior experience working extensively with PowerPivot and power queries in excel.
  • Worked in agile project management framework – SCRUM, Kanban etc.,
  • Worked on implementing/ exposure to MDM tools used for data enrichment etc., will be a plus.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data strategy and governance


Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years IT experience.
  • High proficiency in T-SQL and Microsoft BI tools
  • Experience in Data Governance programs primarily focused on HR systems
  • Developing data ownership and stewardship in a large, complex organization
  • Proficiency with data governance and data quality management tools
  • Strong project leadership and presenting skills, ability to prioritize across teams and functions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication/persuasion skills
  • A strong understanding of data needs for analysis and business performance management
  • Experience with policy setting - data standards and policy management, business rules definition, data access rights management
  • Experience with data stewardship/execution – stewardship best practices, data quality, catalog, access, security

The pay range for this role is $91,000 to $151,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
