Productivity Engineering is a team at LinkedIn that builds products that power LinkedIn’s business. We drive technology vision, architecture, and design systems that help the company deliver on major business processes (go-to-market, sales, finance, and customer support, etc.). We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Software Engineering Manager on our Developer Productivity and Happiness Team. You will play a pivotal role in defining our strategy and tooling for Azure platform and operations, for e.g. in monitoring resource utilization, identifying bottlenecks, optimizing configurations, implementing cost-saving measures, and ensuring compliance. You will be results-driven, leading teams to deliver software products at the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. • Lead and manage the engineering team with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent.
• As a hands-on manager, you will participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.
• Drive execution of product and technology roadmap by collaborating with team, product management, software architects, and business partners.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for craftsmanship.
• Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology road map.
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in software engineering/technical management and people management.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
• Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
• 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.
• Experience in Azure cloud platform
• Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems
• Successful track record of managing small teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
• Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps
• Strong written and verbal communicator who is very organized, able to think entrepreneurially and works well in a cross-collaboration environment.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $144,000 - $235,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
