Your mission
About the role
As a Junior Account Executive, you’ll work across the sales cycle—with a focus on smaller clients, inbound opportunities, and targeted outreach. You’ll be supported by our senior team while getting the exposure you need to grow. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their sustainability goals, and presenting our carbon removal solutions as integral components of their environmental initiatives. Your ability to effectively communicate the importance of carbon removal and its impact on mitigating climate change will be essential to your success in this role.
You will be part of the commercial team and report directly to Tristan Boevé, our Head of Sales.
Tasks:
Initially, you will
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify and qualify potential customers (Outreach via calls, LinkedIn, trade fairs and inbound follow-up).
- Engage with leads through various outreach channels, including phone calls, emails, and social media, to initiate meaningful conversations for yourself and more senior members in our team.
- Provide accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and other performance metrics on a weekly basis.
- Build and maintain a strong lead pipeline, track progress, and provide regular updates to the sales management team while closing deals.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies related to carbon removal and sustainability, and share insights with the team to enhance our competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with the wider sales and impact teams to craft proposals and presentations
- Stay on top of carbon market trends, client news, and the evolving climate policy landscape
Eventually, you will grow into a Senior Account Executive role where you will:
- Conduct in-depth consultations to educate clients about the benefits of carbon removal, the financial implications and instruments available to them and their role in climate change mitigation, and how our platform can help them achieve their carbon targets.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery to contract negotiation and close, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations.
Requirements and skills
Required skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills – you’re confident speaking with prospects and building relationships.
- Basic understanding of (or strong curiosity about) carbon markets, sustainability, or climate tech.
- Comfortable working with CRM tools like HubSpot and keeping a sales pipeline organised.
- Self-starter mindset – you take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- 1–2 years of experience in a commercial or customer-facing role
- Strong written and spoken English (bonus if you speak another European language too!)
The ideal candidate:
- Has a degree (or equivalent experience) in Business or Strategy, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Passionate about climate action and motivated by helping companies remove their carbon footprint.
- Familiarity with carbon removal technologies and/or voluntary carbon markets.
- Experience with proposal (RFP) writing, quoting tools, and handling inbound leads is a plus.
- Naturally curious and eager to learn – you seek out feedback and grow from it.
