Our CO₂ asset management platform allows companies to actively secure high-quality carbon removal solutions, turning a carbon liability into future assets.We strategically finance carbon removal projects based on environmental responsibility as well as social and economic development.Our core purpose is to scale and accelerate the development of carbon removal methods and technologies needed to reverse climate change.

We are 10 people with 7 different nationalities who all share a passion for scaling solutions to the climate crisis.

Your mission

As our new Back End developer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side applications and infrastructure. Your work will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software systems.

Tasks:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain server-side applications, APIs, and databases.
• Database Management: Optimise and manage databases for efficiency, performance, and data integrity.
• API Integration: Collaborate with front-end developers and external partners to integrate APIs and external services.
• Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect against data breaches and unauthorised access.
• Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the backend systems.
• Code Quality: Ensure high code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Version Control: Use version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and track code changes.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with our entire team to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.

Required skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Typescript, Python, Java.
• Experience with relational databases, including schema design and optimisation.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design principles.
• Proficiency in using version control systems like Git.
• Understanding of security best practices in backend development.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

The ideal candidate:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with GraphQL
• Familiar with one or more of the following front-end frameworks: Vue, React, Angular, SolidJS.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• A serious commitment to help solve the climate crisis.
