Head of Manufacturing - Kaffe Bueno

Join the Kaffe Bueno team as our Head of Manufacturing and play a pivotal role in transforming the coffee industry. At Kaffe Bueno, we're on a mission to unlock the health potential of coffee by upcycling its by-products into ingredients for cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and functional foods. We're building Europe's first coffee biorefinery, and we need a hands-on, experienced leader to drive this groundbreaking venture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership & Hands-On Management: As we start manfucturing on a daily basis, get directly involved in setting up, running, and optimizing our manufacturing facilities as well as overseeing production at manufacturing partners. Lead with a balance of strategic vision and practical involvement in day-to-day operations.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee the entire manufacturing process, including production, maintenance, quality control, and compliance with regulations (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, EU Food Hygiene Regulation, FSSC 22000/BRC Global Standards, EU GMP Regulation, EU REACH/CLP, and Danish EPA regulations).

• Safety: build a manufacturing organization and culture where safety of workers, contractors and everyone that deals with our products is central
• Team Development & Empowerment: Build and manage a top-notch team, fostering a culture of trust, empowerment, and continuous improvement. Mentor and guide production managers, QC managers, and operators.

• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and efficiency in our biorefinery operations. Implement lean management practices and automation where applicable.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Sales, and other departments to ensure alignment with business goals and to foster a culture of innovation and sustainability.

• Financial Oversight & Resource Management: Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring the sustainable growth and financial health of the manufacturing operations.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, engineering firms, regulatory bodies, customers, and local communities.

Desired Profile:

• 8+ Years or more progressive experience in production and manufacturing environments, ideally having grown from engineering to production manager.
• Experience within food, (bio)chemicals, pharma, biotech, agro or related is a must
• Strategic thinker and do-er. Not a fire fighter but an implementor of lasting solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex manufacturing operations hands-on, with a track record of significant operational improvements.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Advanced degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field, with additional qualifications in leadership and change management.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, team-building, and leadership skills.
