Across six departments organized into agile, cross‑disciplinary teams, we collaborate closely with colleagues globally - including Molecular Discovery and our Fermentation Pilot Plant.

Together, our work plays a crucial role in enabling Novonesis to bring innovative, sustainable biological solutions to the world.

The Role & Your Impact

As our new Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in daily experimental planning, execution, documentation, and troubleshooting within our R&D setup. You will contribute directly to developing and improving microbial production strains that support Novonesis’ long‑term innovation goals.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

  • Executing hands‑on laboratory or in silico experiments, using automated and digital solutions where relevant.
  • Actively contributing to departmental responsibilities such as QMS, OHS, lab operations, and equipment maintenance.
  • Taking relevant roles in agile workflows—for example, as a process lead within your project team.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • Education as a laboratory technician (laborant), technician, or a BSc in molecular biology, biotechnology, or biochemistry.
  • Practical experience with molecular biology tools for Bacillus or other industrially relevant prokaryotes or eukaryotes.
  • Ability to take initiative, deliver high‑quality work, and maintain transparent communication.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in agile team structures.
  • Comfortable speaking and writing in English.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

  • Experience with automated liquid‑handling systems.
  • A positive, social mindset and sense of humour.
  • Reliability, ownership, and a “Safety First” mindset.
  • Solution‑oriented and holistic thinking.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and digital tools for laboratory workflows.

What We Offer

You will join a collaborative and supportive R&D environment with skilled colleagues who are passionate about scientific excellence and biological innovation. We prioritize knowledge sharing, continuous development, digital improvement, and cross‑team collaboration - ensuring you have opportunities to grow and contribute meaningfully.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

  • Standard working hours, with occasional flexibility depending on project needs.
  • This role is on‑site at our Bagsværd location.
  • Regular lab activities including bench work, standing, and handling laboratory equipment.
  • A workplace that meets strict standards for quality, safety, OHS, and ergonomics.
