Tasks And Responsibilities

Civil & Structural Planning and Engineering

• Lead basic and detailed civil & structural engineering deliverables for all buildings, structures, foundations, roads, drains, and underground utilities.
• Review, approve, and release civil & structural drawings for construction.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and Novonesis engineering guidelines.
• Manage design changes, deviations, and technical queries while maintaining scope and cost control.
  
  

Construction Execution & Contractor Management

• Oversee the execution of all civil and structural works on site, including:
• Earthworks and excavation
• Foundations and piling
• RCC and steel structures
• Buildings, roads, pavements and drains
• Ensure that contractors execute work according to approved drawings, specifications and quality plans.
• Coordinate construction sequencing and interfaces with other disciplines to prevent clashes and rework.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements during civil construction in collaboration with the EHS Manager.
  
  

Quality Management & Technical Assurance

• Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes for civil and structural works.
• Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and inspection records.
• Ensure material approvals, testing, and third-party inspections as required.
• Drive first-time-right execution and minimize defects and rework.
  
  

Interface Management & Coordination

• Identify and resolve interfaces between civil structures and process equipment, piping, electrical, utilities, and architectural elements.
• Ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.
• Coordinate with EPCM, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams to close technical issues proactively.
  
  

Schedule, Cost & Risk Management

• Support Project Controls and Project Managers in developing and maintaining civil construction schedules.
• Identify critical activities, construction constraints, and risks affecting civil works.
• Propose and implement mitigation and recovery plans to protect key milestones.
• Support cost control by managing quantities, variations, and change orders related to civil scope.
  
  

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure civil and structural designs and execution comply with:
• • Local building codes and statutory requirements
  • MIDC / local authority approvals
  • Fire safety and structural safety norms
• Support statutory inspections and approvals related to civil works.
  

Commissioning, Handover & Close-Out

• Ensure civil structures are construction-complete and fit for purpose to support equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.
• Manage punch lists, snag closures, and final handover documentation.
• Support as-built drawings and final documentation for project close-out.
  
  

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Prepare and present regular progress reports, risk assessments, and issue logs related to civil works.
• Act as the single-point owner for civil & structural scope in project reviews and management meetings.
• Escalate risks and deviations proactively with clear mitigation plans.
