Airtame is the preferred platform for wireless screen sharing, digital signage and conferencing for businesses and schools. Our mission is to empower people to share, learn and connect on equal footing, no matter their device type, both locally and hybrid.

Headquartered in Copenhagen, with colleagues in the US and all over Europe, we pride ourselves on strong company culture and collaborative working spirit.

The role

Airtame is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Browser team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Chromium-based browser running on the Airtame device. Our ideal candidate is passionate about developing low-level software which runs under CPU, memory and time constraints. In time you will become proficient in developing, modifying and optimising Chromium. You can easily adapt to and are comfortable with the huge codebase that drives Chromium. The browser is the backbone of our software stack. Your contributions will have a high impact across all of our products.

This opening is for senior level software engineers, working remotely from Europe or alternatively from our Copenhagen HQ, or locally for our team in Budapest. We are open for full-time as well as part-time engagement.

How we envision working together

  • If you are located somewhere in the EU timezone, we support remote work from anywhere within +/-2 hours of CET
  • Should you be located in Copenhagen or surroundings: we’re working hybrid with all the flexibility you need.
  • If you’re a consultant or freelancer on the search for your next mission, we’re very open to hearing from you too.

  • Work on porting our application to Android and Windows (currently running on Linux arm and x86)
  • Develop new API for our extensions implementation
  • Develop and contribute to the new WebUI implementation and integration with our FW and cloud applications
  • Continuously maintain, update and improve our Chromium implementation

To be successful in this mission, you have:

  • Experience developing highly performant software in C or C++.
  • Experience working with open source browser projects such as Webkit or Chromium.
  • Understanding of web technologies such as Javascript and CSS.
  • Basic understanding of different operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android).
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence to work autonomously and as part of a team.
